Central Virginia Farm Workers Initiative

Promatoras de Salud / Community Health Promoters

2025 is the fifth year of the Community Tax Law Project and CVFWI's collaboration, bringing assistance to farm workers.

CVFWI is organizing a series of bilingual screenings at the Odd Fellows Hall of VPM's “Life In The Heart Land” docuseries featuring Nelson County farm workers.

In collaboration with the Building Goodness Foundation/Cville Builds, Design Electric completed repairs in the community center.

Farm Worker Protections

In a time of increased political uncertainty, CVFWI is actively responding to concerns over the safety and protection of farm workers in Nelson County and the surrounding area. In 2025, a primary goal has been distributing bilingual and CVFWI-specific cards to farm workers with the hope of preventing wrongful deportation and intolerance.
